Pre UPSR Answering Techniques Workshops

Answering technigues workshops were held at SK Seri Bintang Utara for the Year 6 pupils.

In the English Paper 1, the speaker advised us to....

• Read the questions carefully
• Underline the question's keyword
• Choose the best answer for each question
• Re-check our anwers before we hand in our paper

For Paper 2, the speaker's advises were to....

• Observe the picture carefully in Section A
• NEVER predict on what is going to happen
• Do NOT start our sentences with pronouns
• Construct our sentences using simple,compound and complex sentences to score better
• Check our grammar, spelling and punctuation
• Support our reasons very well in section B to get high marks
• Identify the tenses and write it down immediately in the notes expantion
• Plan our story carefully and have a good introduction, body and ending
• Make our story more interesting by adding suitable adjectives,adverbs,similes,idioms and proverbs. However we must use them appropriately.
• DONT mix the tenses unless needed

Appreciation and Reflection

Appreciation
I would like to thank Puan Ng for her guidance and advice. It had been very useful during the making of this folio. I would also like to thank my parents for helping me at home.

Reflection
I have learnt many things by making this folio. Among them are learning the meaning of tolerance and conflict. I also have learnt how to cool down when I am angry. This was a very exciting and interesting folio to complete because I did it in my blog.

Conflict

What is a conflict?

Based on http://www.peacekids.net/stories/dino-cool/dino-cool.htm, a conflict is disagreement and argument which can make people angry.

Ways to cool down

• Count to ten... take a deep breath
• Do something you enjoy
• Squeeze a pillow, scream and get your anger out.
  

My New Year Resolutions

My new year's resolution for 2010, most importantly of all, is to get 5As in the upcoming UPSR. I will work extra hard to ensure that I achieve this. I will make my parents proud of me. As this will also be my final year in SK Seri Bintang Utara, I hope that this year will be a memorable one for my teachers, friends and me.

Do I believe that I am cool?

Yes, I do because I am very cheerful all the time. I am also caring towards my friends and family.

Who do I think is cool?

My mother, Sharifah Tahirah because she is always there for me. She also helps me with my problems. She takes good care of me and I love her very much.

Tolerance

Tolerance mean the willingness to accept or tolerate especially opinions or behaviourthat you may not agree with or people who are not like you. It is also the attitude of someone who is willing to accept other people's belief or way of life.
